On May 9, 14:00–18:00, as part of her graduation project at the Estonian Academy of Arts, Sofija Jākobsone invites you to a pop-up exhibition Where do your digital belongings live? in Kalamaja Museum.
🧐 Have you ever lost an important digital item? Are digital items less valuable than physical things? What do you see worth keeping for the future?
Through her project, Sofija researched personal digital archives — the collections of photos, videos, texts and other digital materials that live in and outside of our devices. Through interviews, probe study and workshops, she collected people’s individual experiences and stories around their digital belongings. The exhibition invites you to think about your own digital archive—reflect on what value it holds, and what caring for it could look like, while collecting insights in a zine format.
Come and:
✂️ Make a zine to take home
🔄 Swap secondhand digital items at the Digital Belonging Swap Shop
☕ Join a coffee & chat with Sofija and other visitors at 17:00 in the museum kitchen
P.S. The event will be held in English. For the activities you need to bring along a digital device with your belongings (e.g. your phone).
Photographs and video will be taken during the exhibition as part of the graduation project; if you'd prefer not to be documented, please let Sofija know during the event.
